My nephew's computer had this problem where his computer would hang a couple of times a day when playing games. Apparently he had this problem since the beginning of his current setup. So I suggested with starting to update the bios since it was on one of the earliest versions 0605, that came default with the motherboard. I guided him through the process, everything went well during the installation.
After the reboot he ends up with this code 0F - Microcode not loading. We don't get any display since the update so I can only depend on the Q-Code
The computer is now at my house. I tried the Bios Flashback, CMOS reset, removing the CMOS battery for a minute, removing ram,..
Does this mean the ROM is dead or maybe the CPU?

Firstly I suggest you to Clear Cmos and try to boot
I had same motherboard and I returned it like a week ago because there is no fix for this according to Asus
Unfortunately this board is out of stock and they offered z790-e and I chose refund and they did I searched locally for z590 Unfortunately it's not available I had only one option ebay and they are selling for like 289$ brand new
I was afraid to go through same problems And i chose Rog Maximus Xiii hero
It all started after I updated mine from 1301 to 2203 And apparently there is no going back below 1402 and it doesn't boot
This member also had same problem
For some reason if you cant return it
hopefully this work If the q-code is 99 a power cycle should work it did at least for me
You have to unplug the power source and wait for about 20-30 min
than just power on and do not try to enter the bios otherwise it won't boot and have to do another power cycle

I'm now on the lastest = 2203. I've just noticed that when I'm using the Bios Flashback I can't go back to earlier versions. The light stays green. Except with the 2203 version it proceeds as a normal. After the flashback no signs of life yet...

Hi @Jorn_V5
Don't fully understand this post. Are you saying that since using USB Flashback to 2203 the system is refusing to POST at all?

Since the upgrade from 0605 to 2203 I don't get any POST. After the bios flashback the same... no POST. Only the Q-Code

@aesam6 yes I was able to revert it to 1402. I had hoped it would fix anything.
Once it has lost it's power or something is saved in the BIOS it's power-cycling around 10 times before it loads windows. I can only state that this mainboard is one of bad quality, or at least the ROM.
The user says he will live with it for a couple more years.

I agree that motherboard is a bad quality because my friend also got a faulty unit like mine
thankfully he didn't update from 1301 to 2203 and still working for him sometimes the board restart it self in the middle of gaming beside that its working well
They shouldn't've block the downgrade
It's bad idea to block downgrade of a board Hopefully they learn
