I tested it. The new 2403 bios still has the bootloop problem. I guess that they still have not included support for the new ME firmware.

i have asus maximus xii formula i update to 2403 , after update there like 4 bootloop before show the bios and then show the bios i press f1 enter to bios , and there no more bootloop i start windows 10 restart PC and no more automatically turoff and turn on , however i flashback returning to the bios 2301 beacuse the frist 4 bootloop cause after i update to the 2403 conserning me but after i return back to 2301 cause bootloop too like 4 time (PC auto turn off and turn on) and after that i'm able to enter bios settup all my profile back beacuse all is reset to factory and all good , now idk if i update to 2403 or no

also there a post of update of firmware of intel ME https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?117768-FIRMWARE-Intel-ME-(Z490)
idk if upgrade or no beacuse in the official asus maximus formula firmware only show last firmware version
Version 14.1.53.1649V1.1
2021/06/10

idk if this topic https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?117768-FIRMWARE-Intel-ME-(Z490) is from asus engineering worker trusted or no , just in case is trusted maybe is beta ? idk but i follow only from official drivers / firmware https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-xii-formula-model/helpdesk_bios

you can try updating your firmware https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?117768-FIRMWARE-Intel-ME-(Z490)

Thanks for the helpful post. With both 2403 and 2301, when I turn on the computer, all the lights come on, fans come on and then it restarts without showing anything on the screen. This repeats infinitely until I hard shutdown by holding down the power button. This is what I mean by bootloop.

The ME firmware I have is 14.1.53.1649 which was from Mokichu's thread. But the latest official ME firmware for the Z90-I is Version 14.1.51.1528 from 2021/01/08 ( https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z490-i-gaming-model/helpdesk_bios ). I think this might be the problem. The 2403 and 2301 BIOS for the Z490-I don't recognize the newer 53 ME firmware. Atleast that is conclusion that most of us on this thread have come to.

For now, I am waiting for ASUS to update the official ME firmware for the Z90-I. If I again manually upgrade ME firmware to 14.1.60.1807 from Mokichu's thread, I might end up with more incompatibility issues.

i understant you now , so the best bet is i stay with the ME version official from the driver and dont touch it , i will keep 2301 bios for now in the future probably i will update again to 2403 but idk why the 2403 version disable the PTT by default , i will wait just in case release another bios update for xii formula
btw so in other word you are unable to use your computer beacuse keep restarting and never boot ? for how long you facing this problem

I was able to go back to BIOS 2201 using USB BIOS flashback. This version does not bootloop and is stable for me. So, I can use my computer while I wait.

I encountered the same issue, and came across this forum post. I also have an ROG z490-I and attempted the update to the 2301 BIOS. I also tried the 2403 BIOS in an attempt to troubleshoot. Both times I was met with the same boot-loop issue. I resolved by clearing the CMOS via jumper and was able to boot into the UEFI. I cannot, however, save any settings. Once I make my changes and 'save-exit' the boot-loop issue persists. Unlike others, I acquired the ME update firmware (14.1.53.1649) from the ASUS support page; (https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z490-i-gaming-model/helpdesk_bios) which leaves me confounded (they have since pulled the download). I believe the ME, as many have suggested is the culprit, and that the resolution lies in a BIOS update packaging a newer version than the ME firmware I have currently flashed.

Very helpful info.

It is possible that i might have also installed the 53 ME firmware from the ASUS page too. And without realizing that it was later pulled from the page, I might be incorrectly concluding now that I had Mokichu's 53 ME firmware installed. (I was dabbling in his drivers and firmware releases early in the year).

So, I guess it is all a waiting game for us. I only hope the wait is not indefinite.

I have the same issue with both 2301 and 2403 bios with my z490-i motherboard. After booting, it restarts after 3-4 secconds and then it boots normally into win 11.. I have ME version 14.1.51.1528 (2021/01/08) installed. It is the one listed as latest on the Asus download page.

For me, the 2403 bios still has not PTT enabled, and I cant change it and save.

I have encountered another problem with my computer. Sometimes(not often) when I boot up, I cant see anything on the screen and the keyboard does not light up. The motherboard lights up and all my RGB fans. Even if I change the display cable to the MB displayport the display does not show anything either. When I reset, it starts normally again. Anyone else recognizes this?

I was in the same situation as you !
I did not read the full thread and I didn't realize the link between the uefi/bios firmware and the Intel ME one. Now it's a little bit clear.
Hopefully, the USB flashback feature saved my life.
Now, we just have to wait from ASUS to do something... but I fear that they will leave this card in the abyss of oblivion ! Like so many others...
