Intel security vulnerability pages did say that, for the Intel downfall vulnerability, which is what we are talking about, Microsoft should be providing an opt-out for the patch. I found this in my investigation. I have not tried it (well I set it but right now I am staying on F4 microcode):

Can anyone confirm if this method for disabling the mitigation in the link is still working? I thought I read that microsoft was no longer making it possible to opt out of mitigations.... or was that Intel. Wish I knew which updates included what.

Im still on Bios 1701 & older ME firmware because im not sure what all includes the patch, trying to avoid the perfromance hit. It appears that ME firmware Version 15.0.45.2411V2 has mitigations too

Looks like it also fixed the LogoFail vulnerabilities? I check the BIOS release for z690 and z790 mobos and the newest BIOS was also released within the same week.

On the z690 and z790 newest BIOS it actually mentions this:

Patched LogoFail vulnerabilities.

I don't think so

The Z790 and Z690 got the logfail patch a month ago.  So far none of the Z590 motherboards have a BIOS update with the logfail patch.

On Z490 and i7-10700 there is also a serious performance drop. I went back to the previous bios.

Does anyone know which intel version work good for this combo? Asus Maximus XIII Hero. Sorry i'm late to the party, just picked one up and want to pair with an intel either i7 or i9 but didn't know which one is the best. I don't do much for gaming.

Thinking i7 11700K LGA 1200.
