M2 plastic film removal

TheBlahBlah

Hi

Going to install 990 Pro 2TB which is single sided onto Z590-E M2_1 slot

As I see on the M2_1 slot both sides have plastic film?

So should I remove both upper and lower plastic film from M2_1 slot?

Or upper side only to match 990 Pro single sided?

Thanks

Hello TheBlahBlah

Yes, remove the film from both thermal pads.

There is an optional small square M.2 rubber piece in your accessories you can install for single sided M.2 ssd's.

You should have two of them.

And the screw does not seem right:

Am I doing it correctly?

Or use the included Asus 13020-00096300 original 2x M.2 screws with clip - Q-Latch in the box here?

Sorry but where to install small square M.2 rubber piece? Thanks

The M.2 rubber goes on the black square piece, the M.2 rubber should have a sticky side to peel off.

Well thx for the video, the included Q-Latch's screw in smaller than the one for M2_1 and can't be used there 😞

Seems different for Z590-E 😞

Nope bro, ssd is not 22110 and won't reach there 😞

and perhaps no need to remove the plastic cover from the lower thermal pad as it won't touch the ssd?
