Hello @MoKiChU

Thanks for drivers. On asus website are old drivers for my Maximus X Hero Z370.
So i should use this driver right Drivers - 2xx/3xx : 17.11.3.1010 WHQL [25/11/2022]? But i see in device manager i have version 18 not 17.
And also i updated drivers chipset for example and in device manager is for example Intel(R) 300 Series Chipset Family LPC Controller (Z370) - A2C9 from 2018 year why?

I also updated from here https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/z370-z390/firmware-intel-me-b150-h170-z170-b250-h270-z270-b365-z370/m-... and from this website which is for Intel 400 and 500 series why not under 300 series?

Hi,

Correct.

I have already explained that some 3xx series chipsets HW ID were unofficially compatible 18.x drivers branch (including your Z370 AHCI HW ID), but  that it's not optimal to use them and this is why the Intel 3xx series chipsets are not marked as compatible with 18.x drivers. So if you want to use the 18.x branch at all costs instead of 17.x branch, it is at your own risk.

- If you are looking for the package version number of the Intel Chipset Drivers you are using, you can simply see it via Settings > Applications : Intel(R) Chipset Device Software.

- If you are looking for the version number of the Intel Chipset Drivers you are using, use Driver Store Explorer and by looking in System devices category in the INF column for the .inf files contains system word from INTEL. You can see via the Device Name column which devices in the Device Manager use which drivers.

From Intel :
Intel(R) Chipset Device Software uses an unusual date for the devices it is targeting. The date 07/18/1968 is symbolic - Intel was founded that day.

So if you have Intel Chipset Drivers which are not from this date (as was your case with an Intel Chipset Driver from 2018), your Intel Chipset Drivers are not correctly installed because you have installed Intel Chipset Drivers from Windows Update - Optional updates. Follow this process to cleanup :

- Uninstall your current Intel Chipset Drivers package if you have any installed (via Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC.
- Launch Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator) > Check the boxes of all versions of Intel drivers which .inf contains system word in the System device category (if you find them).
- Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver" button then restart your PC.
- Install last Intel Chipset Drivers package from the first post of this thread.

You need these firmware/drivers for your ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero motherboard :

[FIRMWARE] Intel ME (B150/H170/Z170/B250/H270/Z270/B365/Z370)

[DRIVERS] Intel Chipset/MEI/SATA (1xx/2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx)

Intel Chipset Drivers
Intel MEI Drivers (Drivers Only)
Intel SATA AHCI-RAID Drivers (Drivers Only) :

Drivers - 2xx/3xx

[DRIVERS] Intel Ethernet/WiFi/Bluetooth

- Intel Ethernet Drivers (Drivers Only) :

Drivers - I217/I218/I219

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx)

You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3) from the first post of the thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

@MoKiChU thanks for your reply. I installed yesterday this what you wrote above. So in device manager is for exmple this Intel(R) 300 Series Chipset Family LPC Controller (Z370) - A2C9 and version 10.1.1.45 (January 2018). So what now it is newer driver in this thread? Should i uninstall completely like you wrote or it is okay like this?

I did what you wrote (remove chipset) step by step.
1. Removed chipset from Apps in settings restart pc.

2. On first screenshot (marked with blue are removed - force delete) restart pc.
3. Then installed new chipset second screenshot (there are only now 3 files)

Also next screenshot is from Windows update and offers me their drivers. Because your drivers which i installed have 1968 year and Microsoft have from 2018 for example which seems newer but... I dont know why is 1968 date when was released in 2023 march.

Before uninstall and remove :
system

After install new your chipset from this thread :
after-installation-new-chipset

And windows update offers me their drivers :
win-update

Don't look at the date but at the version number :

From Windows Update : v10.1.1.45
From the last Intel Chipset Drivers package installer : v10.1.11.4

I have already explained to you why this date from 1968 :

Your Intel Chipset Drivers install is fine now, just don't install any Intel Chipset Drivers from Windows Update - Optional updates to avoid Intel Chipset Drivers conflicts.
