Yeah, I'm doing the same, saving the settings as well, noticed that is going backwards or onwards also. But I'm checking everything anyways afterwards, if they change something from a version to another a certain setting might not be validated, and no error is flagged.

But honestly I'm not tweaking too much in BIOS, I'm just more like a "default" guy when it comes to RAM. This is annoying, because a bloody XMP is NOT WORKING on these crappy boards, they really messed up things when they incorporated 11th. They should do TWO bios versions, one for 10th and one for 11th.

For some reason I was just hoping that they fixed stuff for 2x16 @ 4000+ for 10th :))

Probably when they say that they improved the system performance, DRAM compatibility and so on it's for 11th, who knows.

Yes I agree, but they want people to buy the newest platform, and so focus their development time on that.

In order to gain some stability with the new bios 2601 I had to tune some parameters and perform several tests.
As expected, compared to older bios versions, it seems that for 2601 I had to increase some voltages, for instance VCORE from 1.30V to 1.32V, even VRAM from default 1.40 XMP to 1.42 V.
The IO and SA voltages are a no go if left default - which would mean 1.40V for IO and 1.5V for SA - that's the way Asus is estimating them from a long, long time for some reason.
So after several iterations 1.28 V IO and 1.36 V SA seem stable for Anta's new profile for TestMem5 and GSAT as well.

MRC Fast Boot & MCH full check on Auto this time.
Before I kept Fast Boot disabled and the Full Check Enabled. I noticed during time that keeping those as stated RAM stability was NOT consistent, it's like after every reboot different settings were loaded, training them every time seems to change some RAM parameters for some reason.

1.36V for SA seems to be enough as well for 1GHz FCLK Frequency - yeah, some say it's a fad, I know it doesn't bring too much but in some games there is some marginal performance increase.

The 2x16 4000C16 kit (F4-4000C16D-32GTRSA) seems finally stable on 2601 =))

Thank you for sharing! So no point in upgrading from 2403 then?

kvarq

to be honest I can't tell if I feel any improvement from 2403
I reverted from 2601 to 2403, but then after a while I was surprised that 2403 was not so stable, although I used the EXACT same profile which proved to be quite solid in the beginning (was saved on USB actually) - it's like those times when you upgrade your ram and the PC doesn't boot, so you put back the old ram and still doesn't boot =))
maybe it has to do with the stuff I stated on the RAM stability being not that consistent, it's like after every reboot different settings are loaded, training them every time seems to change some RAM parameters for some reason

if something will seem off, I'll definitely go back to 1003 =))

Anybody else having random error 51 nvme disconnect issues? I found a Z690 thread which is exactly the issue I'm having, but obviously wrong board. I'm Maximus XII Hero Wifi. I'll try to go to 2601 later today, but it's been plaguing me for months only when I do hard gaming, and only in certain games (like PUBG had issues, but WZ didn't, and CP2077/Control with full raytracing had no issues either) so it's not a power-supply issue that I can think of. Thanks.

has been this from the beginning?
once in a blue moon this is happening after a windows update...

try to unmount the SSD and mounting it again, see if the pins are ok
also make sure that you have the last SSD firmware update

ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA BIOS 2701

Version 2701   10.79 MB   2023/03/21
 Improve system stability

Anyone try this version of the BIOS?

I am still running on 2201 (not sure I ever updated the BIOS to begin with from my purchase of this MB back in Oct 2021).

Running Windows 11 fine from an upgraded 10. Manually changed the TPM back them.

Any reason to even flash this? I have not been having any problems that I know of.. (I know, don't update it if there are no issues..) just curious.
