Funny enough I just ordered a new set of 3600 14-15-15-35 gskill as well and it's 2x16 too (F4-3600C14D-32GTRS). Hoping to dial it up to around 4200-4400 with decent timings...

I must be doing something wrong, wife's Z490-E can do 2 sticks at 4266mhz (2x8) but not 4. I can't do more than 4000mhz (4 sticks) with my Z390-E.

sounds about right. 4 sticks is more strenuous on the IMC with overclocking RAM 2 sticks is the best way to go.

It's a shame, if I could have gotten them to work, I would have traded my 9900k/Z390-E for her 10700k/Z490-E. I kind of expected it TBH.

I run 2x16Gb at 4266 CL16. Z490 is daisy chain, so it works best on 2 sticks. Z390 I believe is T-Topology and likes 4 sticks above 3866-4000, but all depends on CPU IMC and mobo PCB as well.

Yeah, that was my assumption too, but you know how marketing works... It's why I bought 4266mhz RAM to begin with.

I should have my kit tomorrow, ordered from the egg a few days ago, with express shipping.

Running 2x16GB with unused slots DIMMO A, B both disabled in BIOS should help stability at higher frequency.

I'm going for 4200MHz with my 2x16GB kit, as DDR4 uses memory straps of 100 or 133MHz in conjunction with multipliers, standard BCLK = 100 so DDR4-4200MHz is 100x21, RAM would be clocked at 2100MHz meaning it's effective clock is DDR4 4200.

In theory memory timings will have better/tighter numbers, be more stable at 4200 vs 4133 as 4133 is not a standard speed, BCLK would need to be 103.33, DDR4 is 1330x15 = RAM clocked at 2000MHz, meaning it's effective clock would be DDR4 4000, all the memory straps, multipliers for 4133 would be adversely effecting stability when trying to tighten/tune timings as low as possible.

heh my bdie 4x8 16-16-16-36 refused to run past 4133 at 16-18-18-36 or 17-17-17-36 timings.

I wonder if our new sticks can handle 4200 at 16 flat....Â*

Hope so, will be disappointed if not. My kit is out for delivery now, should have it by noon today.

I'm running a temp cooling solution that interferes with first DIMM slot, so could not test 4x8GB kit. Was not a big deal as I only intended on using the Corsair H150i for a few days, and install Windows, drivers, graphics card, than pull H150i and put in custom water system, but have been waiting for 3090 FE block now since November 17th. Thinking about going ahead and building the loop, and adding GPU when block arrives, as Optimus has not even started production of the 3090 FE line yet, going to be awhile, and the card runs below 70c on air, it's just huge and limits reservoir placement with front 60mm radiator.

The 2x16GB modules PCB is B1 8-Layer, 2-Ranks, they are Samsung B-Die.

They booted Windows just fine @ 4200MHz in Auto settings with DRAM 1.45V and 1.2V SA/IO, timings are loose but stable.

87403

Tightened primary's and made a few adjustments, going to run Mem test few hours at 17-17-17-34 so far these bars looking nice,..

17 flat should be easy at 4200 with that kit people have even managed 16 flat afaik.

4300 or 4400 headroom at 17 flat should be in the mid to high 65-67gbps read write bandwidth and approx sub 36ns when tuned.Â*
