Asus ROG Strix z590a wifi Realtek 3.5mm not showing up

Just wanted to ask a quick question. I bought the asus ROG strix Z590A motherboard and did not do a fresh install of windows. I'm assuming I had some leftover drivers and other things from my other asus Z390a board.* To be honest everything has been working fine my only issue was that I didn't have the line in and line out under windows sound settings.

*I had the realtech driver installed from asus website but could not get my front panel 3.5 mm headphones to work nor could I plug them in the rear of the motherboard. Actually there was just no option to actually use those headphones because the line in or line out was not even available in the window settings I'm attaching a picture

Here ya go: video showing you exactly what is going on.

Here is a pic of the only things in my bios relevant to audio

thank you to everyone that attempted to help me with this issue. Means alot. In the end, it was a simple motherboard swap. Amazon was nice enough to send me a brand new Strix z590a wifi. Got it in two days and swapped it this morning and voila!

I am sorry you swapped out the motherboard. I had to do the same recently for a defect affecting the boot process of the computer. In your case though you did not show in the video your BIOS settings. If USB Audio is disabled in the BIOS you will not see any Realtek device in the Sound Playback list you showed. If you enable USB Audio in the BIOS settings you will see Realtek devices in the Windows Sound list that you showed in your video. I just tested this on my Asus ROG Strix Z590 A Gaming motherboard. This setting appears to be Enabled by default which is why when you swapped to a new motherboard everything worked for you. Perhaps you disabled it on the previous motherboard and did not realize it, or if you had not been in the BIOS it was somehow Disabled from the factory.

Did not see earlier your post #13 where you may have shown the BIOS settings but the picture does not show in this forum thread.

The audio is not working(3.5mm), your audio is now coming via usb port. I know it is confusing because they call the new audio "USB". The 3.5mm should work without any drivers installed other than Windows default drivers. At least it does for me on z590 Apex and z590 Hero which use the same drivers from what I can see looking at your MB info. It looks to me like you have a defective product. But maybe I am missing something.

You are not getting audio via the 3.5mm that is what I meant by when I asked is the audio working and it sounds like it never has.

Edit I first disabled USB audio in the bios and couldn't figure out why my 3.5mm was working. That is why them calling it USB Audio was confusing to me 😉

It was not disabled. That's the first thing you check. I helped this user with his problems.

I did not see that help and if it was via PM or in another thread would not see it here.
