Apex XIII bios

0903 is officially out
probably based on beta which has been available since a month or so, not sure if it is day & night, not having too much hope though*

I am curious when dual rank will be ok with this crappy board

plus the power stuff, endless restarts, *RBAR, USB poling rate etc...

looking fwd for the KP Z590 board, can’t wait to throw this board or hit it with a hammer, can’t RMA it since Asus warranty is not at all international, money thrown down to the toilet*

flashed the 1007 on my Apex XIII

0903

1007

same stuff with the 7F error, the USB issue (when a third device is plugged in, sometimes the keyboard is disconnecting for some reason)
differences noticed - EC version RKL updated from 014 to 015, PTT setting from disabled to enabled, and I can see "Trusted Computing" in 1007, was not there for me in 0903 🙂
probably I'll switch those off, since I'm on 21H1, no intention for W11 too soon, probably when it will be really out...

I had also a false alarm, thought that after restart latencies for my 2x16 kit have been updated to XMP values 16-16-16-36, but like the voltage stuff, it actually needs few proper restarts to be properly updated... so it passed a quick GSAT test, which never happened so far with any 2x16 kit, not even 4000C19 etc., but with the wrong latencies 🙂

what's still weird though, the 4000C19 kit on XMP does NOT pass GSAT, fails under 20 mins let's say, but the 4000C16 kit when latencies adjusted to 17-17-17-37 instead 16-16-16-36 (XMP) proved to be rock solid

so it seems that there are still issues with the dual rank on this motherboard

I have not undestood...
This beta bios 1007 is usable or has problems ?

Now I have installed the 902 bios version, in my ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO mobo: I need to update the bios or not ?

Thanks in advance.

0902, 0903, 1007 are all beta, then 0902 and 0903 were uploaded on Asus website as official for some reason (and the "official" versions are identical to the beta ones, I checked the Apex versions with hex editors)

if you're happy with 0902, you can leave it as it is, or you can try 1007 if you're bored
some went back to 0902 or 0903, some kept 1007

Personally I have zero usb issues with 1007 in my Apex. Can't OC the memory for ****, but It seems I've struck the bad end in terms of memory sticks too (beyond the board issues as well)

What exactly usb issues you talking about? Could you clarify, please? And where did you get 1007 if 0903 is latest on XIII Apex product page.

another beta became official

still not fixed 2x16 for 10900K
had for few days 11900K and my 2x16 kits passed GSAT easily for hours and hours with XMP activated; and that's with the auto voltages SA 0.976 V, IO 1.056 V, processor is SP50 =))
compared to my 10900K SP 83, auto voltages are SA 1.472 V and IO 1.392 V, and no matter how much I tweak these or VRAM/VCORE, nothing works not even for XMP
