Hi guys! I have a concern about the color accuracy of the Custom Built Zephyrus S GX701GX-XH76 240Hz Display. I cannot find any reviews regarding it and HIDevolution wouldn't even be able to verify if it's pantone validated out of the box without me paying $85 just for verification.
So I searched other Asus ROG laptops with 240Hz display such as the ROG Scar III & ROG Strix Hero III and found out that their using the Sharp LQ156M1JW09 (SHP14D3) display which according to some reviews that the colors looks washout and viewing compressed videos on youtube shows "gradience shimmer and looks extra ugly" according to Linus. But I can't confirm it if their using the same screen for this version of GX701 unless someone does from here.
So I'm not sure if I would rather look for the 144Hz version instead which is confirmed to be using the AUO409D display (AUO B173HAN04.0). I'm not really an FPS gamer and would rather prefer a better screen quality and color accuracy for photo and video editing stuff but I also don't want to compromise a better refresh rate for RPG games like Witcher and Final Fantasy XV while keeping a better technology for cooling and it's slim and portable profile since I also travel a lot that's why I'm really aiming for the GX701.
This will be the first laptop that I will be buying with my own money and planning to keep it over the years but this is the only factor that's keeping me from pulling the trigger. So if anyone can confirm if the Zephyrus S GX701GX-XH76 240Hz is using the Sharp LQ156M1JW09 (SHP14D3) display, I would gladly appreciate it and will choose the 144Hz version instead. Thanks
