I have a Asus Z87-PRO mother board with the USB Bios Flash Feature, I am running the 64 bit Windows 7 Pro, Intel I7 4707K 3.5 GHz Processor. This board came with Bios Version 1205 and I wish to update with the latest Bios Version 1602. What do I need to do? Do I need to rename the Bios, if so how?, with a Bios Version that old do I need to run a some kind of Update Utility? Are there any known problems flashing the Bios this way?
If you system is broken, or not working as you would expect it to work then flash your bios. Other wise I see no reason to do so.
Use a fat formatted usb stick, and extract the bios file to the root directory. Then use the Ezflash 2 utility that is found in the tools menu of the bios.
DO NOT flash via OS ever please.
