Z490-E network drop outs

I think this has been reported a few times but I am still getting this.

Running a Asus Z490-E gaming with Intel I225-V drivers 1.0.2.6 .

The network drops for 2-10 seconds. My devices connected to the wifi are unaffected so I strongly believe it's not the wifi.

Is there a fix for this? It is extremely frustrating as I play some competitive fps games.

Cheers!

Welcome to the party, not a good party though! 😞

I have actually been battling this for a few months now, ended up buying a pcie ethernet adapter instead.

I tried a few things:

- I tried the solution suggested by intel, it worked for a day or so but then it failed again.
- I also tried the intel solution with the latest driver on the Asus site, this strangely worked for a few days however it reverted again.

- I updated my motherboard to the latest bios then I tried the intel solution. This was the most promising attempt as it worked for a week or so. You can skip this if you want and just continue with the solution on the intel site, https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057261/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products....

I would firstly recommend attempting the Intel solution before anything else, which is on https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057261/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.... When doing so, use the drivers from the links on this post https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?118280-DRIVERS-Intel-Ethernet-WiFi-Bluetooth instead of the Asus site.

Who knows, you might get lucky and it works and doesn't drop again 🙂

For me personally, it worked for a week or so then it just reverted itself to the same issue problem

For now, I'm not doing anything and will be using my ethernet adapter for the forseeable future. I found this post on 03/12/2020 on the intel forums:

Which is on this https://community.intel.com/t5/Ethernet-Products/Intel-Network-I225-V-Nework-issue-persist-even-afte...

So, best of luck if you are going to try the fixes. Message me if you need any assistance!

Thank you for your response.

I am devestated this is happening really, it's infuriating.

I have just bought a new lan cable to try and if that doesn't fix it, I am between buying a network card or doing an RMA and rebuilding the pc.

EDIT

I flashed the drivers and had no issues for around 3 days, and then they re-introduced.

Very annoying right? I used to game on laptops before and built PC's for others, none of them had a single issue.

This is the first PC I build for myself and I get this bloody unfixable issue.

I will keep using the pcie card for a bit and then possibly RMA the motherboard like you mentioned. The issue is, if I do RMA it and they send me a different board but same model, what stops it from having the same issue? This is really annoying!

So Marhaba!

July now... What have you done with your problem?

I just got a brandnew Asus ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming and I'm having problems with Intel I225-V Controller as well.

Researching around, already noticed that the problem is not the motherboard brand or the model... I'm very convinced that the problem is the Controller.

There's lot's of people complaining about the same issues, since rev.1 of the controller! Mine is rev.3 and still got it!

Not luck trying to fix it...
