Hello folks just wondering if anyone is able to help. Im not an expert at configuring PCs so please bear with me. As I understand it I need to fogure out if my PC can be configured to be compatible with Windows 11. Windows has stated that I need to enable Secure Boot and TPM.
I believe ive sorted the Secure Boot (UEFI) however when I come to enabling TPM, in the section 'Advanced\PCH-FW Configuration' in the Asus bios utility before booting, theres one option 'TPM Device Selection' and I have the option to change it from 'Descreet TPM' which is already set, to 'Firmware TPM'.
There is a message at the botoom of the screen however which reads 'PTT/Descreet TPM Will be dissabled and all data saved on it will be lost', so I have not enabled it. Is this what it sounds like ie it will indeed wipe the SSD which contains the Windows installation? (Pic below) Thank you!
MJ

Hello MJ76
If you don't have a TPM module connected to the motherboard, select Firmware TPM.

Thank you for your reply, is this likely to erase any / all data on the SSD containing Windows like it states on the Bios screen?

I believe it's just saying the data on the discrete TPM module will be erased, it shouldn't affect any data on your ssd.
