Good Morning fellow gamers,
Just looking for a bit of advice please.
I have had a brand new custom PC for nearly 7 months now that I'm still in love with. I have an I9 12900K chip and I'm running a Rog Strix 3090 24GB OC GPU.
Would there be any issues or concerns that I should be aware of if I was to update to a Rog Strix 4090 24GB OC GPU with my B660-F motherboard?
I get great 4K gaming performance as it is but I want the best if it is going to work for me.
I have a big Lan Li case that has at least another 15cm of room from the end of my current GPU and plenty of room for the 4090 GPU.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello, the B660-F won't have an issue with the 4090 Strix. However, check the dimensions as the cards are considerably larger than last gen.

No problem. Also keep in mind the power supply requirements jumped this gen, too. 1000W recommendation. You can however experiment with TDP limits. Personally find that the 4090 shines performance per W is around 70% TDP.

Really appreciate the response Silent_Scone, many thanks...:-)
I'm new to all of these tech stuff and specifications as I'm more into software and stuff. I have checked the dimensions and I have more than enough room in my case. The 3090 length is 319mm(12.6 Inches) and the 4090 length is 358mm (14.1 inches) and I have at least another 15cm to the end of the inside of my case and plenty of room above and below the current GPU. In that instance, I'm happy my B660-F will support this motherboard so thank you for the advice.
Cheers,
Chris
