Will installing M.2 SSD disable my Sata ports?

leens

My current mother board is ASUS Tuf Gaming Z790-pluz wifi D4.

I have my sata ports connected to 2 SSD and HDD.  I am planning to get a NVME M.2 SSD but I read somewhere using an M.2 slot will disable my Sata ports.

I read through the manual and I'm quite confused and unclear if installing an M.2 will disable my SATA.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @leens No, your SATA ports will not be disabled. You can install M.2 drives along side SATA drives.

It is good to check here first before you make your M.2 drive purchase. Which drive are you thinking of buying? Also what exactly in the manual is causing the confusion for you? Can you refer to the PAGE number of the manual or a screenshot of the page from your manual that is confusing to you?
