i have been told that i would need two ssd drives to operate one as my main Operating system drive ? is this true ?

I don't think so. You need an SSD to install Windows on, a second is nice for additional fast storage...if you have the money, but otherwise, no, you should not need a second SSD.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Intel all the way mate.

Honestly Intel have hands down the best SSDs due to the parts they use and some background dealings they did to get their own controllers put into the drives for their 520 series. In the end so long as you go for one of the more well known brands you should be fine so go with whichever one that you want. You should take other peoples advice as their opinions and nothing more when it comes to brands, everyone will help you but everyone will have a different opinion on which one to get and why

When I was building my new system after a lot of reading (reviews) and looking around on the net it came down to Intel or Crucial m4 128. I went with the M4 and have had no problems or issues with it. But really either way you really wont go wrong if you go with the right series of SSD's for Intel or Crucial.

Vertex 3 is nice.. cheap, stable, fast.......

I've actually bought both an Intel 520 240GB and Crucial M4 256GB!

I've not started building the system yet, but I'll use the Intel 520 for OS + progs and some games, and the M4 for more games.

Initially I ordered one 60GB and one 120GB Intel, but cancelled the 120GB for a 256GB M4 as I found out that the M4 was good as well and more GB for the buck.

Intel's drives should be more reliable as well as faster, but the M4 has proves it self for a long time.

Then all of a sudden the big Intel 520's dropped almost 50% a week ago, so I ended up cancelling the 60GB order for a 240GB Intel as well..

Had I not bought the M4 from another supplier already when the Intel prices fell, I would prolly had changed my other order to 2 Intel's instead.
