Which is better : battery or plugged in

Hello, I have a very cliche and old question but I just had to make sure of the answer from asus community.

I got a new pc yesterday ( asus tuf a15 r5 rtx2050 ), I intend to use it for heavy tasks ( specifically android development and other lighter coding tasks ) so I'm wondering,  while using android studio / any other task wether heavy or light, do I use the laptop plugged in or on battery mode? Which is better for the battery life? And the overall performance?

Also, if I limit battery charging to 80%, would the battery led turn white/green when it reached 80% or would it only turn if it reaches 95%-100% ?

Hi @Yasminee I have been using laptops always connected to the wall (or plugged in) for over 20 years. I have not seen any significant difference in battery life one way or the other.
