What RAM in what slot?

a friend of mine has TWO ram sticks "1600mhz vengance" each 8gb (total of 16) and maximus V formula/thunderFX I was jsut wondering if it matters if he puts them into the black, red, or one of each ram slots??

Hey there Basel,.....he'll have to take a quick look in the manual...there are recommended slots for the RAM....usually the two red slots first. Just remember that RAM comes in kits and mixing kits can bring problems even if they are nominally the same make and model. I presume that is a 16GB Kit. (though LGA1155 is quite forgiving with RAM)

You will get better performance if you have the kit of ram in the same coloured slot.
