What is the best RAM?

I’m currently considering one of these motherboards. What is the best match for RAM? I’d like to get 64GB in two sticks. And is it true that AMD chipsets can’t use more than 4000mhz?

ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
ASUS ROG Strix X570-E

If you have better suggestions for the motherboard I’m open. Those two looked good to me but not sure what RAM to get.

I’ll be using this system for gaming and heavy 3D rendering and animation (Blender, Maya, Zbrush, etc). It will be paired with a 2080ti and 5900x cpu. *

Hello,

1) For best chance of plug & play compatibility look to purchase a kit verified by both the board vendor and memory vendor for your motherboard as listed on the memory QVL.

2) Anything over 3600MHz can require manual tuning for stability

3) 3866 and beyond vastly depends on the strength of the (FCLK) Infinity Fabric of the CPU

4) Best performance is found with a 1:1 ratio of FCLK / MCLK

THIS is the best RAM!

5866Mhz CL21, 5600Mhz CL20, 5333Mhz CL19 on air.

Next Question? 😛

OK, my next question is - "How do you stay so humble?" Answer: It's not easy. 😛

For both motherboards listed above, and 5900X chip you should be plug & play with Corsair CMK64GX4M2D3600C18. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK64GX4M2D3600C18

Hitting 2,000MHz on the Infinity Fabric clock of Ryzen 5000 CPUs is not a guarantee, but with recent BIOS, and recent optimizations for 1900-2000MHz fabric clocks in AGESA it is doable to achieve a 1900+ fabric speed with X570 & 5000 series processors. Basically you want a 1:1 ratio for your memory clock and the Infinity Fabric for optimal performance.

The vast majority of system builders want to reach for a RAM kit that they can plug in and clock one button to get up and running, and they don't want to pay a fortune for the privilege, especially if the memory isn't running as optimally as it can do.

Good luck, enjoy your new build.

I believe I have decided on this from Amazon. Seems to be getting great reviews from Ryzen 5000 series owners.Â*

I am very much agreed with Silent Scone@ROG. The only question/concern now if the memory module a single rank or dual rank.
