Welcome to the Republic of Gamers forums, Emperor.

I like your dream. 🙂 Just a little heads up. Make sure those 64GB of RAM aren't from the Vengeance series. 😉 And see if you can drop in a 240GB SSD in there. It'll make your dream PC even sweeter than it is now.

Thanks for the advice 🙂

Hey Emperor 🙂

What you going to be doing with that PC? I mean it's your dream and all but do you really need all that RAM and all that power?

If you are not going to be overclocking an 850w power suply (say a Seasonic X850 would run even two graphic cards and save you some cash. Then all that RAM?... not really needed if you are doing half normal things....a good 16GB kit should be more than enough normally and you'd save even more cash.

With all that saved cash buy a 256 GB SSD (like a OCZ Vector) and you'll see real speed.;)

I'm a little confused too, the RAM level is crazy and you're only using a quad core X79 CPU. If you don't need crazy high amounts of RAM you could get away with a H77/Z77 board and a E3 1230 v2 or 3770k and get about the same amount of performance. You'd also be able to still get away with 32GB of RAM.

+2 on the PSU as well, 1200 watts is crazy overkill, unless you're planning on doing like a 3930K with overclock and triple SLI GTX 680's down the road.

Thanks 🙂 I thought 'more ram=more speed' and thats why I picked 64Gb but it was wrong. So this is better then?

Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme RoG
Graphic card: ASUS GeForce GTX680-DC2G-4GD5 - 4GB - PCI-E or GTX Titan (better)
Memory: Corsair DDR3 32GB 1600MHz (or maybe 2400 MHz?)
Power supply: 900 Watt
Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K (or 3970X)
Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100
Hard disk: Seagate 1TB 3.5" SATA-600 7200rpm 64MB
+SSD: 256Gb

Well, more doesn't mean faster too... it really depends on what are you gonna use that system for...

In order to have fast RAM, you have to think about 2 things... the RAM's frequency and the timings... - higher the frequency and lower the timings, your RAM will be faster...

Now, how much faster? If you're not doing specific RAM-intensive tasks, you won't even observe the difference between 1600 and 2400MHz... I would say that a single 4x4GB 2133MHz, CL9 kit would be pretty good... what you can save on the memory, invest in an SSD - that's what will give you real life speed experience...

The H77/Z77 platform with the 3770k is a completely different story... the RIVE is a X79 platform and you need LGA2011 CPUs in it... - the RIVE won't take the 3770k, for that you need an adequate mobo...

Emperor .. Welcome to ROG friend.
When you dream, you go BIG.
You still don't say what you will be doing with this Monster.
Gaming .. OC'n ect.. (Extreme OC'n ?? The Extreme boards are for this and
in honesty don't offer 'More' to the Gamer/General user .. ie.. graphic rendering, ect.)
The 'Formulas' are screamers without the Extras for the extreme OverClockers .. as in for LN2, ect.
and are especially 'choice' for the Gamer.
As to the Memory .. 32GB is still serious OverKill for the Gamer .. 8 is plenty .. 16GB is 'futureProofing'..sort of speak.
All memory not 1333/1600 is OverClocked ..
This leaves you some wiggle room in your budget for upgrading the cpu or to a 690gtx .. which Will make a
difference in your system.
Best of Luck.c.
