What are the POST Beep Codes and where are they Documented?

Hello,

Title says it all... I have an H97-I Plus system that I'm just firing up now, but it won't boot. I'll hook up a speaker to it later today, but that's a worthless effort if there's no documentation on what ASUS's POST error codes are.

What exactly are the Beep codes, and where are they documented?

This is all I've found so far, but it doesn't' look very complete;

Thanks.

The beep codes report how far the motherboard managed to boot up before something in the hardware or firmware failed, they might report an error code generated by a failed component or they might report the status code for the last component which successfully initialized.

Each number and sequence of beeps means something specific, described in the Asus H97I-PLUS User Manual. Most modern motherboards don't even come equipped with speakers and instead display (just barely) more informative codes on numeric LED panels - these are akin to POST cards used by computer techs back in the dark ages, now built into the mobo itself.

Asus has a tendency to re-use blocks of firmware and hardware in their motherboard designs. If your user manual doesn't list the code you're hearing then you might still find it in the user manual for some other Asus H97 motherboard.
