I'm going up to second slot from the bottom just for better clearance of internal hard tube runs. My PSU sits in the backside of the monstrosity I use aka Phanteks Enthoo Elite.
The Bench results for the 905 series are about the same across the board. I have all 3 variants, M.2, U2 and AIC. Where I do see a difference is on the HEDT running them on direct lanes to the CPU and not though the PCH. Lose speed though the PCH as thats shared with everything else, sound, USB, SATA drives etc.
Just dont raid them up or the latency kills the 4K low que depth. Heres what it does to a pair of M.2s in VROC raid 0. the sequential is though the roof as there is no PCH/4 lanes of DMI bus limitations but the 4K looks pitiful but still twice as fast as the Samsungs. I took them back out of VROC raid. They all run in the 250 read and 225 write on random 4k as stand alone.
