VGA Error white LED lit but boots and runs

This is more of an annoyance than anything. My PC has the follow components

Asus ROG Maximus Hero XI
Intel 9900K
16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz (its on the QVL)
EVGA GTX 1080
Samsung 960Pro M.2 2TB
Lastest version of BIOS

The computer boots and runs fine, but I get the triple beep and a VGA error on boot. The white LED stays lit. I'd like to get rid on this annoyance if possible without RMAing the board. If it comes down to an RMA I'll just live with it. This error is intermittent and I got it twice while building the system before installing my VGA card. Any thoughts on what it causing this error?

I looked through the BIOS to see if I could disable the onboard VGA since I never intend to use it, but found no settings to disable it.

I'm assuming you have no video output? Try connecting to your monitor using a display port cable or the other way around, using an HDMI cable if you intended through the display port already.

I receive video through my add-on card (GTX 1080) no problem.

Look on page 47 of your BIOS manual, it's in there.
