hi guys
recently i bought asus b460m prime and intel i3 10100f
my psu have just one 4 pin cable for cpu
but mobo have just one 8 pin input
so i decide to test that 4 pin cable..
But after turning on the pc
I did not receive any screen
There is no mention in mobo manual file about using just one 4 pin
======
so my question is that :
is 8 pin required for booting up this mobo ?
or maybe something else is wrong ?
(my language is very bad ,srry for that)

If 8 pin is enough to handle 190W CPU (12700), 4 pin should be enough to run 95W CPU, right? Actually 4 pins are rated to handle up to 105W. Yours require 65W and peaks up to 90W.

I say it should be fine.

Obviously it's not fine. To the OP, how old is your PSU and what is the make and model? I can't imagine any decent modern PSU not having an 8 pin CPU connector. I suspect you need to upgrade that PSU.

Hello, the 8-pin ESP is required in order to use the motherboard.

For your CPU you will not need the additional 4-pin ESP connector as the CPU is not capable of drawing enough current.
