Hello everybody 😀
I have a full ROG computer Rampage VI Apex, Core i9 7900x delid and direct die with a ROG Strix RTX 3080 TI OC with 2 custom watercooling loop.
I play game with nvidia surround with 3 ROG swift PG278Q so a resolution 7850x1440
It's necessary to bought another CPU like a Core i9 10900x or 10980XE if i bought a rtx 4080 or 4090 or change motherboard etc......
Thanks for your help 😁

Hello GhostR1d3r
What kind of performance are you getting with your 7900x and 3080ti at 7850x1440 resolution?
Are you running out of Vram?
At 7850x1440 resolution, most of the workload will be thrown to the gpu, so upgrading to the 10900x or 10980XE won't help a whole lot.
As expensive as gpu's are, upgrading to an RTX 4080 might not be worth the price to performance increase. The RTX 4090 would be a nice upgrade, but then, how soon will the RTX 5000 gpu's be released? There's no official release date , but they could be here by the end of 2024.
If you can hold off until the RTX 5000 gpu's arrive, this might not be a bad idea, then just build a whole new pc when that time comes.

Hi Nate 😀
Thanks for reply and sorry for my delay. Yes i know for the new NVidia GPU and the new intel socket, normally for this year.
First change all my fans case and all my fans radiators to replace my old Aerocool Dead Silence. This month or next month i'm going to buy Phanteks T30 120mm for radiators and Phanteks D30 120mm and 140mm for my case.
Second, i want to change my 3 old PG278Q and replace them for 3 OLED or QD-OLED like the famous ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM, i love this monitor for a NVidia Surround with 11520x2160 resolution. So if i keep my x299 for the moment, it is possible, with a good overclock for my CPU, change only the GPU for a RTX 3090 or RTX 4090 !!!
For software i use Photoshop, Autocad, Revit, Enscape and maybe VRay and for games i play all Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon, Battlefield, Star wars, Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Down....... and as soon as possible Cyberpunk, Horizon Zero Dawn 2 and Avatar.

For your work scenarios, an RTX 4090 would help with 24GB of Vram.
But, I suspect even an RTX 4090 would struggle playing games at 11520 x 2160 resolution.

Ok I'm going to listen what you told me and waiting the new Intel CPU / chipset and the new RTX 5090. Wait for review with these new components.
I think I'm going to buy my triple 4k one by one because this PG32UCDM are perfect for me or maybe the PG27AQDM, for the moment i hesitate between the two.
Asus plans to make an equivalent PG32UCDM but in 27" with 2560x1440 resolution ?

I have the ROG Swift PG27AQDM, it's a fantastic gaming monitor. On a side note, we who have it are waiting for an Nvidia driver to make it G-Sync Compatible certified.
I'll agree, waiting to see some reviews of the RTX 5090 is a good idea. The rumored performance and specifications look promising and would be worth the wait.

Ok. I saw on some review in my country (France) there's some problem with the text (Cleartype) on Windows or webrowser etc.... with OLED and QD-OLED monitor, the quality of the text is not perfect !
Now it's good or this is the same problem ?
For G-Sync Compatible certified it's drivers or a firmware ?

They say the text on OLED monitors isn't quite as crisp as say an LCD monitor, this is one of the drawbacks of all OLED monitors. But, in all honesty it looks fine to me.
Nvidia has yet to release a driver to make it G-Sync Compatible certified, ASUS has been pushing Nvidia for a certified driver so one should be on the way sometime soon. But even now, I can confirm G-Sync works fine and isn't a problem without a certified driver. In my opinion, it doesn't seem to be that critical.
As for firmware, you will want to update the firmware to MCM105 and I hear a new firmware MCM106 is coming soon as well.
I mainly play Destiny 2 and with HDR on, it makes a HUGE difference with visuals. HDR really is a game changer. For instance, enemies eyes, lasers from their weapons, my grenades and most other things in the environment are brighter and more pronounced. After playing Destiny 2 with HDR on, turning it off makes the game look dull. And when I say dull, I'm saying that's how good the HDR is.
If you decide on the ROG Swift PG27AQDM, I can say it's a fantastic gaming monitor, there are many settings you can calibrate it with to your own liking. I doubt you will find a single con with this monitor, at least I haven't found any.

Hello Nate,
Sorry for the delay but i've had some problem with my computer since the middle of April, a f***** Kernel 41 (63) error, waiting for my new PSU.
Ok thank you very much for your reply. I'm going to wait my money, buy one to start, test it and if is very good for me i'm going to do my future NVidia surround with this monitor. Just the negative point, i'm a little afraid for the text on some software like Firefox, Autocad, Photoshop etc..... but i' want to have my own opinion.
It's so difficult because the 2 monitors are excellent but the PG32UCDM is something like the double of the PG27AQDM for the price here in my country.
So wait and see 😁

The kernel 41 (63) in event viewer means your system shut down unexpectedly.
It could possibly be the psu, but other things can cause it too.
Testing with the bios at default settings is a good place to start.
