Upgrade from NVIDIA GTX 650 1GBD5

I am looking for an opinion for an upgrade to a new GPU that is within my range and budget. I have my choice narrowed down to two cards that are similar in price and are both made by ASUS. The first card is an NVIDIA GTX 760 ASUS Direct CU II OC card for about $260 and the other is an AMD R9 270X ASUS Direct CU II OC card for the same price. I am looking to this forum for the diverse group of gamers that have experience in building. I am curious as to which is superior for gaming.

Hi Animekid117, Both cards you have listed are similar in performance. The gtx 760 has a slight edge in performance. The gtx 760 supports directx 11 while the R9 270x supports directx 11.2.

Well I knew they would be close but I was curious since the GTX 760 has been out for awhile and the R9 series cards are fairly new. In regards to DirectX 11.2 wouldn't it be better in the long run to get the Radeon card?
