Can one run quad sli gtx 680 4gb dc2?

Primary use: multi monitor gaming/video editing

Planned build:

4x4gb dc2 gtx 680 watercooled
EVGA SR-X/asus rampage 4?
2xXeon processors/i7-3970x
512Gb ssd (intel)+4x4tb western digital 7200 rmp hdd
case? Thinking about the cosmos 2
PSU 1500 watts EVGA dual modular

budget: about 12k euros

watercooling: gonna watercool everything, including gpu harddrives everything. 2x 360 rads+2 4.0 dc pumps

But can you actually run quad sli gtx 680s? and is 1500 watts enough for this build?

asking on behalf of a friend whos currently enjoying his holidays
any thoughts/opinions be welcome

Based your hardware, I ran it through a PSU calculator and at peak, youre looking at around 1015W, So 1500 Should be fine..
However, I'd almost be tempted to run a dual PSU set up, with a high-end 1000/1200 for the motherboard, and graphics cards, and then a smaller, say 600W unit to power all the the drives and cooling systems.

dual psu wont fit in most cases. Get me a good idea for a case where you can fit 2 big rads and 2 psus while keeping it looking neat. Absolutely gonna be modding a bit so need a big case to start on

Those are so ugly. No "standard" full tower than supports dual psu?

Azza Genesis 9000, and Fusion 4000 Support Dual PSU, and they look pretty cool, But they are both ridiculously huge. I think the Fusion 4000, which is the biggest case, is 32" tall and 24" long, and can also do Dual MOBO setup, XL-ATX and ITX board

You should go for 2 D5 pumps or 3 DDC pumps, the 4.0 DC won't have enough power to push the water through all those blocks. For CPU you should rethink using the 3970x, the performance increase is 5% and the price increase is 70-100%.

Also I'm not 100% sure running the WC system on a separate PSU is clever, it is better for it (at least the pump) to run with the same PSU as the CPU and GPU due to there being a chance that the other PSU won't start at the same time, which will cause the CPU and GPU to heat up for a short time.

You could run a z77 and a decent cpu and have a good system but if u go overkill you might aswell go all out. I'll keep you updated when we start buildin:D
