Hi All,

I installed today a second 780TI for make a SLI

I followed the instructions for the motherboard rampage iv

I put the second card in the other port pci_e 16x
I connected with the SLI bridge

37440
When I turn on the pc I hear fans of the card to the maximum. Then when windows appears he has turned a normal speed.

No mention of SLI in the NVIDIA Control Panel or in the device manager windows.

In the BIOS the card is not detected either.

Is SLI bridge broken?

Thanks

Ok finnally I fixed it

I made to mistakes

Pcie toggle switched to OFF 😮

And the second surprising one : Not enough alimentation

I had to plug two modular pci-e 6+2
All the places are now full

I wonder how you can manage 3 or 4 cards

the PSU 1200w had the same number of pci-e 6+2 ports

37443

Indeed my first card use 2 cables like the one at the left

and for the second card I used the right cable (Y cable but who have both 6 and 😎

Apparently it's not enough I had to use 2 cables the second card

so for 3 cards 6 cables? 😮
which PSU can offer so many places?

each card needs power from the PSU, and can not operate whit out power from the PSU.
the 6+2 are dedicaded for the graphics only.
you can plug in the molex to help give it steady power just to be on the safe side ( or is it a 4 pin black power conector?? )
1200w+ have that menny, my 1200w have 6 pci-e outputs.

I have a 860W and it's have 6 pci-e too but only 2 remaining
2 of the 6 was used for only one card (I didn't mount the pc myself, they used 2 pci_e slots for only one card)
I thought I have to use 2 slots too
That what I did and it's worked!

Finnally I tried to use only one slot for one card and it's worked (I don't know why but it didn't worked on my first try) That's why I wrote in my previous post that I used 2 slots.

I'm not sure i'm clear! english it's not my language
