RTX 3080 build

Hey guys,

can anyone tell me if its worth upgrading my current graphics cards to a single rtx 3080 which i would watercool?
Current spec found below

ROG rampage5 extreme
Intel 5980x
32gb corsair dominator ram
2x GTX980 in sli
2x Samsung SSD 850
COrsair AX1500i
2x ROG PG178Q 1440p at 144hz

Motherboard, cpu and grasphicscards are watercooled by a double pump.
CPU Intel i7 5960X@ 4.5Ghz
RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB 2400mhz
GPU 2 X EVGA GTX 980 in SLI
SSD 2 X Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
HDD 2 X WD RE 4TB
MOBO Asus Rampage V Extreme
PSU Corsair AX 1500i

That's stil a very capable system...the 3080 will deliver a bit more than those two cards can deliver on the one card...avoiding many dual card issues...where SLI does not work it will deliver more than double the perf...

At the time I ran dual Maxwell Titans from that gen....single 3080 beats the scores I got from that setup...and in gaming and RTX stuff etc it is, of course, way ahead...

But of course it depends what you play and what you do with the system...

Wont i run into any bottlenecks considering im putting a new pcie gen 4 into a pcie gen 3 system?
Maybe my cpu will be the bottleneck?

That kind of depends on what resolution you are gaming at but in practical terms...no, not much

I have two rog pg278q at 144hz.
