Hi,

I have a really weird problem thats is starting to get more and more annoying.

I recently bought a Asus Strix Z270H Gaming/K1, Socket-1151 wich is the exact same card as the Z270H according to Asus, only diffrence is plastic covers over some ports.
Ive tried to update the Bios without succes for 3 days now, and these are all the steps ive taken

* Formated USB to FAT32 and tried with NTFS and tried from HDD
* Tried every possible driver from the link i got from Asus
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270H-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/
* Renamed every file and tried it with BRenamerl AND tried without renaming them
* Tried to update with EZflash in Bios and Asus suite 3 and with internetconnection via bios (but cant get online with cable for some reason)
* Formated my HDD ( doesnt matter to bios but did it when i swapped motherboard)
* Another weird thing is that the name of my bios atm is 0201? There is no version out there named 0201 to this motherboard.....

Ive read that some ppl changed the name on bios file and that made it work, but i have no clue what could be wron with origanl names or new names thats BRenamerl chooses.

Late here were i live, so going to bed now but ill check in the morning again 😛
/Thanks in advance

Hello!

0201 was probably the first bios to be released with this board. Sometimes these initial bios releases are not available to the general public for various reasons.

You do not need to rename the bios file if you're using the EZ Flash tool in the bios.
Have you cleared the CMOS or returned the bios settings to default before doing the flash?
I assume that you're trying to update to bios 1301, right?

Hi again,

Tried it but still nothing 😞 im starting to feel that it really is a issue with either filename or some weird bug etc.
Every thread i read about this and solution it has always been fat32 thats been the problem, or name of the bios file.
For example when i read the manual for this card the name of the examplefile when they update is z270GG.cap, starting to have a mental breakdown here lol

Have you tried a different USB stick?

Hi,

Yes 2 diffrents sticks of diffrent brands, tried with NTFS, FAT32 and tried fast format and normal format.
So im kinda clueless, think ill replace this board since it from a large retailer who bought em to build their own high end pc:s .
Hence the name k/1 added to it, even though its a z270H

😕

This is probably not a problem anymore but to clarify this.

K1 version of the board is one sent out in the nordic countries during a price campaign. This means its got a different number in the bios which makes it impossible to upgrade with the normal bios. You have to contact ASUS to get the proper version for the board.

I have the K1 version of the latest bios 1301 if you're still interested.
