Hello everyone, I wanted to update my BIOS to the newest version so I can put in my new CPU (ryzen 9 5950x). My USB stick is formated to FAT32.
The Problem I have now is that my BIOS wont accept the BIOS update. On the homepage of ASUS site the latest update is "ROG STRIX X370-F GAMING BIOS 6203" but my BIOS is "8002 x64". It says selected file is not a proper BIOS. I tried every update from the page but none of them worked. I also tried with this "ROG CROSSHAIR VI EXTREME BIOS 8702" update because from the number it would fits with my actual BIOS version but this one didnt work either. Now im totally helpless.

Hey,
First, try installing a different processor on your motherboard that matches the current BIOS. Clear the CMOS. Test to see if it boot's. If it does that's great. If it doesn't then you have corrupted BIOS.

Okay thanks, I’ll try it tomorrow and let you know if it worked

So today I cleared the CMOS and the pc booted. I tried to update my BIOS again but it still says selected file is not a proper BIOS. I also tried to update it with the internet connection and there it says it’s already up to date.

Hey,
The only thing the comes to my mind is that if you're flashing the BIOS with an USB stick, make sure it's just the CAP file and nothing else. Are you sure that the flash process is for the new BIOS? It looks like you're trying to use the same BIOS.
