Did you mean:

ROG STRIX B560-G GAMING WIFI motherboard not compatible with NVME Samsung 990 PRO .

 I use an Asus B-560 G motherboard with an intel I5 11400, Windows 11 Professional (x64) Version 24H2 (build 26100.3323) and an NVME Samsung 990 PRO 2T.

The announced  performances of the NMVE are:

Sequential Read: 7.450 MB
Sequential write: 6.900 MB
Random read: 1.400.000 IOPS
Random write: 1.550.000 IOP

After applying all recommended changes, like aligning the NVME I get the following results (way under what has been announced by Samsung):

Sequential Read: 7.016 MB
Sequential write: 6.766 MB
Random read: 944.824 IOPS
Random write: 203.613 IOPS

I tested the same NVMe on a new Asus B-760 Plus with an Intel  I5-14600 and I got the following results:

Sequential Read: 6.558 MB
Sequential write: 6.511 MB
Random read: 1.378.417 IOPS
Random write: 1.365.527 IOPS

In both cases SATA and Virtualisation are disabled  in the bios.
After different advices, ASUS support (France) wrote me that the 990 Pro of Samsung is NOT compatible with my B-560 Motherboard., and they recommend to buy a NMVE that is listed on their product page.

I mention this here for the ones who would encounter the same issue.

Hi @OlivierM

Can you confirm which M.2 slot the 990 was installed in?

M.2_1 is wired to the CPU lanes. M.2_2 is wired to the chipset, with potential for reduced performance.

Hello and thank you for your reply.
The 990 was of course  installed in the M.2_1 slot (that is wired to the CPU lanes).
