Rog maximus x hero + m2 ssd

Hello there,

I got a ROG MAXIMUS X HERO and I already have an NVMe SSD installed. I'm looking to buy one more disk but this time a M2 SATA SSD. Would this affect my Lanes or would it disable any SATA cable?

Thanks in advance for any helpful reply!

Hello mate, what else do you have connected to the PCi lanes. VGA, Soundcard, adaptors...??

So all I have to do is to connect the M2 device on any other available M2 slot and change the Bandwith from BIOS to X4 which would disable SATA6G_56? Or do I have to change to SATA Mode as well? I got 1 HDD and 1 SSD on SATA6G_0 and G_1 installed already

Kind regards
