ROG G513QY Advantage Edition replacing chewi gummy paste on VRM/VRAM/Mosfits....

In ASUS G513QY Advantage Edition, mosfets, vram and vrm had some gummy chewi paste, I guess its a thermal paste not melted pads?
Planning replace all these chewi, gummy stuff (took them off already, waiting for pads delivery), once pads arrive in 2 weeks I will apply the pads, and then use the laptop again, also will be putting fresh LM on CPU/GPU.

These are the chewi gummy stuff:

What you guys think of these pads?

Here a community posted photo of this laptop's motherboard with colors on each section so its easier for you suggest which colour goes with
which thickness (mm) of thermal pad/paste:

I grabbed 0.5mm 1mm and 2mm to cover all possible size needs of this laptop.

Thanks!

Hard to say with only one review. That pad is good if you need a single large adhesive pad but for most typical use cases I prefer the smaller non-adhesive ones. I guess since you already ordered them you can tell us what you think.

How about sizes? Could you please confirm sizes (thickness most important, in mm) for each zone?

Vram (blue), mosfets, vrm etc...

Thanks !

Sorry, no idea. You can sometimes get an idea checking the existing pads with some calipers. Also, if you're a little off you can stack them to get other sizes. It's not ideal but pads seem to stack OK as long as they are clean.

Well thats IF Asus used proper pads in Advantage Edition, but ASUS used gummy paste which smashed and squashed away when chamber is opened, so now its impossible to measure anything.

Could you please consult with the engineers to suggest the sizes? I bet - many people will need it as they will eventually be repasting their units too.

Thanks!

ROG Team - so long time no one from Asus could give this details?

Oh, I don't work for ASUS. This is a community forum for customers to communicate with each other and I'm a volunteer moderator.

We did the repadding in my unit, it ended up :

1. VRAM 0.5mm
2. Chokes 0.5mm
3. Mosfits 1mm

Not sure if all units are same though.

Greetings,

Buddy what was your temperatures? I try this with some washer Modifikation and tjunction is around 100 degree and temp 1 is around 60-70 degree.

jp

Edit:
i figured it out for my device and would like to share it as well and don't forget if you do it as well it is at your own risk

1. Orange is 0.5mm
2. Red is 1.0 mm, as you can see the are 2 1.0mm between the 0.5 mm Pads because they are a bit lower then the other chokes.
And these two lower parts were the issue for my 100 degree temp 2.
