ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO with Marvell® AQtion 10Gb ? 90 degrees power pins ?

Aragonite
Level 9
Why does this motherboard at this price point not offer a 10Gb Ethernet port??

I currently have a Z790 Maximus Extreme and I use this port for my connection because I can have a speed of up to 8 Gb with my operator: AQtion 10Gb, Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet.

But I notice that on AMD versions, even very high-end, that the maximum port is 5Gb ...

Also on AMD the power pins are not 90 degrees like on Intel versions ...

I feel like AMD has less innovation than Intel...

Will it be planned?

The thing to keep in mind is that costs aren't always the same from vendor to vendor. Chipsets, controllers etc. Timing is also more key than ever with AMD and Intel releasing new products year on year.

Sometimes concessions have to be made. Packing cost into the NIC when it can be better spent elsewhere (innovations like Nitropath) often makes more sense on enthusiast products. Also depending on the vendor's design, adding these additional controllers can introduce electrical noise and power distribution challenges.

That's just my 10c, though. We're moving towards seeing more and more boards packing 2.5G and up even on mid-tier boards.

Yes, I can understand that there are several parameters to take into account but I don't think that putting a 10G socket costs a fortune compared to a 5G socket ...

More and more internet providers offer very high speeds up to 8G with an SFP + RJ45 adapter.

It is always a possible plus for professionals or gamers.

And for me I have such a speed, but by buying this card, I would be restricted or I would be forced to buy a separate 10G card which ultimately increases the budget much more ...

I hope that ASUS will take this into account for everyone ...
