In your user manual there is a section devoted to the multi card aspect of the motherboard. I guess it does also depend on the size of the card, some non-reference cards are three slots wide these days. So no easy answer until I know what cards you are using?
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

It says slot 1 and 4. With having a sound card in the pcie x1 slot I can't use slot 4 since the 580 is a 2 slot card.

How should I go about this?

Can you put a pcie x1 card in a full slot pcie?

Slot 1 and 4 are your pcieX16 slots for graphics cards they are RED, put your sound card in slot 3 the BLACK slot so it will not affect your x16 slots. Yes you can put any pcie card in a x16 slot. It is all explained in the manual. There is also a pcie slot simulator in the bios that will show you the effect of placing cards in different slots.

Ah thanks! I put my sound card in slot 6 and the card in pcie 4 is showing as x8. I will move the sound card later today when the rest of my ram comes today. Dunno what I needed 32gbs for but that's what I will have.

You may want to try a Ramdisk if you have so much memory... 🙂

Thinking about trying it out for fun. What's a good program to use?

I'm actually not using Ramdisk lately, as spending more time with benching (there less memory is better)... so, I may not be up to date regarding infos about it... but it does seem to me that here, in this Forum, were discussions about it... - you should do a search on the site...
