Hi, so i have got an Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2023) recently . I have  found an issue with the machine which is kind of irritating . The issue is , whenever i plug in my charger the screen goes black for a moment and then the refresh rate goes from 60 to 165 Hz. once the charger is unplugged the refresh rate goes back to 60 Hz . I have tried every possible fixing methods , yet it is still the same. Would be grateful if someone helps me out.

Hi @Abdullah11 have tried to set your Windows Display settings to use a 60Hz refresh rate all the time? This may prevent the issue you are facing.

@Abdullah11, achugh's suggestion is a good one! Also, have you checked your Nvidia Control Panel settings? Sometimes the refresh rate can be overridden there. Make sure it's set to match your preference in both Windows and Nvidia settings. If you're using a Luxihome monitor, you might want to consult their specific support documentation for additional tips.

I have the same issue but it's more a Windows issue with the screen refresh rate settings than any ASUS, intel or Nvidia settings.
Every time I'm plugging in the power plug the hertz changes automatically from 60 hertz to 144 hertz.
If I'm changing it back to 60Hz that my laptop is only compatible with, this setting won't be saved. Not even by clicking apply several times and restarting the laptop.

This is most horrible garbage ever made by developers responsible for this failure.
What am I suppose to do? It's even bad for the hardware when this kind of setting is changed over and over again and when my laptop is not even compatible with 144 hertz.

Maybe this was a solution to it all and as I found this right after I wrote the message.
I'm still doubtful, but will see after a while.

Hi @MrCitizenUnknow , I am not sure what exact ASUS laptop model you have but you can watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kqiER4sWOw video which is talking about ASUS design choice they made for their P16 laptop which is an ASUS decision to conserve battery.

Instead of using your external (nVidia) GPU, have you tried to use the GPU inside your processor (assuming your processor has one)? The iGPU (or Integrated GPU) may give you a consistent 60Hz refresh rate.

Yes, the issue was that ASUS Armoury Crate had Hertz barely visible turned on in condition to change the Hertz up to 144 Hertz.
It's just an on and off click only that is just visible with a blue colour right under the icon on Armoury Crate. So every time I plugged in and  out the power supply this issue would occur several times, even if 60 Hertz were turned on with both power settings with or without the power supply plugged in. Armoury Crate is overriding the setttings with the power supply plugged in if the Hertz setttings is not adjusted to 60 Hertz in Armoury Crate.
