Realtek Audio Driver Update v.6.3.9600.2342 fails to install on Asus Z690 Maximus Extreme. So Armory Crate said there was an update, it downloaded, said it installed and when rebooting and checking the driver in device manager, it still shows the previous version 6.3.9600.2307 and I see the following error in event viewer:

Faulting application name: rundll32.exe, version: 10.0.22621.1, time stamp: 0xb05d6072

So it never completes the install, any ideas on how to get this to install correctly? Of coarse the install package isnt on the support website yet, or even on the Z790.

I followed that thread and was able to get them installed. I am curious as to why ASUS would release an update through Armory crate and/or the website knowing the drivers wont install and point it's customers to a post here to resolve? Even the drivers on the website are two drivers behind as the one trying to install in armory crate isnt even listed in the motherboard websites for the Maximus Extreme z690 or the z790.

Hi,

The thread ahfoo linked to you is not for your motherboard.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Same issue stops at 55% and I get this error message: .\asussetup.exe missing. I've not found the driver online. I have Maximus XIII Hero, I9-11900k I will try to download it from https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-xiii-hero-model/helpdesk_download/ and install it manually.
