I've got a Rampage IV with i7-3930K that I has 32GB of RAM plugged in.
Only 16GB show on the BIOS.
All parts are used. 630 Watt Thermaltake power supply.
I have plugged in all of the power ports on the MB.

(4 * 8GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Corsair V\engeance.

RAM is plugged into slots A1, B1, D1,C1

I know the RAM is 8GB because when I plugged into one slot 8GB shows up on the BIOS.

I have reset the BIOS by pulling the battery.

Please throw me a bone.
I plan on using this BOX for a Linux VM server.
I've got a low ed video card in it.

Need a little more info. Are you currently using Linux or Windows as your OS?

Currently I have no harddrive connected to the system. I'm using the Gentoo System rescue usb.
I am just trying to config the BIOS
I will eventually install Debian 9.5 with a PCI-E nic (802.3)

I tried to update the BIOS with no luck per direction

Solved by moving ram to
c1,c2,b1,b2
This is a used MB and I believe 4 RAM slots are defective.
Additionally I updated the BIOS using the WHITE usb slot method.
I plan to update the bios again to the 2014 update.

I installed Debian 9.5 and plan to run windows 10 using KVM.
