im not sure if this has to do with it but it says Memory Usage 13 % under speccy while im running all this stuff

all im doing is transferring files to my desktop, using internet and other programs, and winrar

Based on the specs on the Asus site, this laptop has dual 2.5" bay for storage units...

Vizard, where are you located? In US you certainly can find an SSD below $300...

Okay, so he puts his OS on the 256GB SSD previously referenced from Amazon for $139 or $160 at Newegg and everything else stays on the other drive. He can stick that in as a secondary and copy from it when he does the HDD switch.

Samsung makes a migration software that it comes with that lets you copy your old HDD to the SSD. It's custom so I would suggest you go through and let it copy C:\ Windows and the system partition and exclude all your videos and game folders \ program files (x86\ etc.

128GB SSD is way enough for Win7… (with the original HDD as data storage, of course)

Od that you have 24 GB of ram I take it your using 3x 8 GB sticks? Wouldn't that affect performance by not being in dual channel mode? ANd I'm going to have to agree , an upgrade to a SSD would have been my first priority.
