RAM stick suggestions please?

I am currently getting ready to upgrade my pc system. My new components are as follows:

Intel Core i7 4770 3.4GHz Boxed Processor
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
TP-LINK N600 Dual Band Wireless-N PCIe Adapter

I will be picking up ~ 16GB RAM DDR3 memory sticks
...a lot of different reviews don't seem to state which sticks work best with these parts.

What I am looking at is: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL

It also was suggested I look at the G.Skill Trident or G.Skill Sniper series. However, I am not wanting to spend a fortune on these and a lot of RAM sticks seem way over priced to me.

Any and all recommendations/commentaries are welcome.

How much is the F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL kit going to cost you? Or what is your budget for the 16GB kit?
About $100 which is within my budget

BTW, I will not be overclocking anything on my system.

lynspottery, your question is wrong... - for these todays machines you need a matched kit of sticks, you do not want mix individual modules...

With that said, I would still try to stretch my budget and get at least an 1600MHz kit...

Where are you located, where are you intending to buy from? We could help you better to find something if we know where to look...

Sorry for the confusion..I understood I needed a matched set, but I was looking at two different ones from the same manufacturer. Unfortunately, I cannot extend my budget very much over the taxes, which made the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL ideal at New Egg's special offer of $109 with free shipping.

All is not lost. G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Mode.... Same amount of RAM but at a higher frequency going for the same price ($109.99) + free shipping. Better hurry!

Thank you very much for this post, however, I already ordered the other set. Which, at that time, the ones you suggest were much higher priced. But that is ok...thanks again. 🙂

Get any 1600MHz 16GB single kit of memory that is within your budget. It is near impossible to be more specific as we do not know where you are based nor what is available in your country. The GSkill brand is one that I can endorse with confidence.

There is no work best with hardware. It either works or it does not as simple as that.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I finally was able to find a package of 2 RAM sticks from New Egg as they were the closest to my price range I could find. I ordered the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL.

Shortly after I ordered my set, it appeared that these particular RAM sticks went out of stock. Black Friday sales galore ...what a wave.

Everything locally is way over my price range or they do not carry G.Skill products. I've used the G.Skill products in my current DDR2 setup and have not had any issues ...they run great. Because of my personal experience with them, I chose to stick with G.SKill for the DDR3 set to use in my upgrade.

BTW I have read through a lot of forums and not found many that have quite as considerate a group of posters as I have here. You all are great.

Thanks again... 😮

16GB is perfect for a gaming system and has a healthy element of future proofing too. I always prefer two sticks over 4 any day of the week. You will enjoy your system I am sure.
