RAM for Crosshair Hero VII

Hello all,

Long story short, I am making a new build based around the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR HERO VII and I am concerned with the RAM I have chosen (but not yet bought) so I am here for a sanity check. First off, here is the build I am planning to purchase:

CPU: AMD RYZEN 2700X
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB (4x8GB) F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR
MOBO: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR HERO VII
GFX: GTX 980Ti (Re-Unisg my exisitng GPU until new chips come out)
Cooler: NZXT Kraken x72
Storage: Samsung 970EVo NVMe M.2 500GB (OS) + Samsung 970EVo NVMe M.2 1TB (Games)
PSU: Corsair AX1200i 1200 Watt (Re-using Old existing PSU)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Now for the RAM issue. I am dead set on going with G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB. After some research, I understand that the best rule of thumb is to go with the RAM kits that are suggested in the QVL list for this mobo. Unfortunately the fastest TridentZ RGB kits for this mobo are 3200 at 2x8GB. However I was shown a list of SAMSUNG B-die kits that will work from this website:

https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f13/die-ultimative-hardwareluxx-samsung-8gb-b-die-liste-alle-h...

Based on this list, my friend from another forum suggested the following kit:

F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR
https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c14q-32gtzr

Seems reasonable. What do you guys think? Are there any glaring holes and incompatibilities in the RAM kit of choice and all other components I have outlined above? I appreciate all help and suggestions.

Hi,

Why not take the same in AMD specific (GTZR : Intel / GTZRX : AMD) ? :

F4-3200C14Q-32GTZRX : https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c14q-32gtzrx

You can see that they are compatible with your motherboard on their dedicated QVL list : https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c16q-32gtzrx#tabs-qvl
