Hi all,so as per title I'm about to update my system components,
I've always been an intel fan and I was going to get a i7-14700k for my new build, however after reading around about these issues they had with the voltage and temperatures on the 13th and 14th generation I'm a bit concerned.
I've starting to look at AMD but if you take the Ryzen 7 7800X3D (which if I'm not wrong is the best amd CPU up to date) there is still quite a bit difference with the 14700k in performance in favour of this last one like intel is 20% faster on single core,18% on dual core etc.
So should I go with AMD or has intel resolved the issues with the new microcodes that they've released now?
I will be using my pc for gaming mainly
What are your thoughts? thanks

Hi @Alessio088
1. Intel has since released two consecutive microcodes that address concerns with 13th and 14th gen CPUs, including capping the VccMAX over 170mV lower.
2. For longevity, I'd recommend waiting for 9000 X3D CPUs to drop shortly before making any decisions.
3. Evaluate what you plan to do on the system. If it's predominantly gaming, then AMD's X3D CPUs currently make the most sense.

Hi Silent_Scone,thanks for your reply.
Actually I didn't know that the new 9000 x3d CPUs are releasing next week,so I'll wait and see, thanks for letting me know, even doing some searching online everyone says that amd is better for gaming and that's what I will be using my pc for.
If you don't mind I'd like to ask another two questions.
1. If I would go for the intel,I would pair the i7-14700k with a ROG Strix Z790-E. Am I right to think that the equivalent for the AM5 would be a ROG STRIX X670E-E?
2. I had already bought the ROG Manta DDR5 6600mhz from v-color,will they work on the AM5 motherboard as on their website it only says that the ram is compatible with intel z790 chipset?
Thanks

Hi @Alessio088 you should get the memory from the QVL of the board.
Since you are an Intel fan like me, I would stick with Intel. You can wait for the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 CPUs about to come out soon. Or get i9-14900K or i9-14900KS. Intel focused on these chips a lot and they should be working properly now. Plus Intel 14th Gen CPUs come with 2 years of additional warranty to calm the nerves.
