A few days a go i started noticing weird lags in the PC, programs glitching and tearing / only rendering portions of it etc, i figured it was the windows update because it happened right after, but yesterday when i turned on the pc i was met with a Qcode 15, after about 4 minutes it started loading until i got a BSOD inaccessible boot drive, i reseated, swapped around the memory stick, theyre in the correct slots to begin with. the only way i can get in now is clearing CMOS, getting forced into bios, saving and exiting out then it will eventually load into windows after a tonne of different unusual codes that never happened under regular use. i might be able to do a single reboot before i have to repeat this process, i've been told the drive is dying, but there isnt any evidence of that being the case afaik, crystaldisk showed no errors or critical warnings, neither does windows event viewer log.
any ideas what it could be? i thought at first the CPU was fried, but it seems to function as intended.

Hello jesterftw
Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
1) Type in chkdsk C: and hit enter.
2) Type in sfc /scannow and hit enter.
This will check your drive and system files for any errors and may attempt to fix them.
Do they find any errors?

There were no errors in the scans. i've yet to run a memtest, but since it works fine, for a while, after the CMOS clear for about 6-8 hours then it starts chugging until things start to freeze to the point i have to hard reset and do the process over again, im at a loss for what to check even.

Ok, that sounds good.
Q-Code 15 = pre-memory System Agent Initialization.
For two sticks of memory, the correct configuration is slots A2-B2 (2nd and 4th slots from the cpu).
Have you tried updating the bios? If you need help with this just say so.

i've not, do i need to DL something or can i do it through BIOS? the sticks are in the A2 and B2 slots, they've worked there since i got the PC.

Ok very good, your memory is installed in the correct slots.
Can you confirm if you have the ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming, or ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi motherboard.
Just want to make sure we get the right bios.

Here is my entire build list.

Thank you,
I wanted to confirm you had the WiFi version.
Give me a little bit, I'll make a video and list the steps on how to update the bios.
Be back in about 30 minutes.

Follow these steps to update the bios.
1) Grab a usb flash drive and make sure it's formatted to the .FAT32 file system.
2) Follow this video to rename the bios file and put it on your usb flash drive. Download bios 2403 - ROG STRIX X670E-E GAMING WIFI | Motherboards | ROG United States
Once you have the bios file on your usb flash drive:
1) Shut down your pc and let the psu switch on.
2) Insert your usb flash drive into the usb port marked BIOS.
3) Press and hold the bios flashback button until the led starts blinking, then release.
4) The blinking should get faster as it goes then stop when completed, it should take around 2 minutes or so.
5) When the blinking stops, start your pc, it may continue to update on start up.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. How does it go after updating the bios?
