Hello everybody! Hope somebody here have a solution for me.

I just bought some new stuff to update my setup. I bought following

*ROG strix b850f wifi motherborad

*AMD ryzen 7 7700X 4,5GHz 40mb

*Kingston CL40 fury beast DDR5 2x8GB 5600MHz.

Toghter with this i have from before 1000 watt psu, nvidia rtx 4070 ti super.

Problem is when i connect psu the computer starts for a breef 3-5 seconds, and then shuts down, and I can't start it by start button, I need to disconnect psu from the wall outlet and then put it back in, the pc starts for breef 3-5 seconds and shuts down.. With this, a orange led lights up, indicating something wrong with D-ram I have tried relocating them in different slots, tried with only one stick, tried with only ram and cpu connected etc.. But still the same breef 3-5 seconds and the pc shuts down.. I also tried flashing bios with no luck... In hope somebody will have a answer, Tanks in advance.

Hi @JohnEn92
Are you able to take a video? The brief start-up and shutdown could be related to overcurrent protection or a thermal problem.

Make sure you have at least one 8-pin CPU EPS connected, and all other power connectors are fully inserted.

Inspect that the CPU cooler is correctly mounted.

If problem persists, remove the motherboard from the case and "breadboard" it, meaning power up the system outside of the chassis (on the motherboard box for example).

See if the issue persists and report back.

It seems this website doesn't allow videos, i tried uploading a video when i made the post, but thanks for the advice, I will try your suggestions and hope it will sort it out 🙏

Thank you for your assistance! Funny thing, it was a short.. In my old setup the mobo was screwed just to the chassis, so I did the same with the new one 🤷‍♂️ but after your suggestions i bought the distances between the chassis and mobo and It all worked fine 😊 I'm not the most experienced guy with building pc's had no idea it should be distances in between. Anyways thanks a lot!

No problem. Yeah, the fact you had to reset the AC pointed toward a protection mechanism. Glad you managed to solve it.

Hello JohnEn92

You can upload your video to youtube, then post it here.

Try shutting down your pc and unplug the power supply cable, install 1 stick of memory in the A2 slot (2nd slot from the cpu).

Press and hold the clear cmos button for 3 seconds, then try booting up.

Any luck booting?
