Power supply and chassis fans not coming on

I am building my computer in phases. I connected my corsair psu to maximus iv. I will not be adding the ram and processor until next week. The PSU does not power up. I would have expected power & fans on even without ram and cpu ?

Welcome, rhino, to the ROG forum!

Add the CPU, memory and graphic card to the mobo before you want to power it up - otherwise it will give you error codes...

To test the PSU I would "jump" it (do a google search). The motherboard should light up when power is connected but I don't know that you'll be able to test the fan headers until you have the other stuff.

As xero said, "jump it"...

Remove the cables from the mobo, and gpu's, and other HW..

Remember the 3 Laws of Computers...

1) If it doesn't work, Hit It!
2) If that Fails then Kick It!
3) If the Above Fails...Call someone who Knows what they are doing in the First Place....!

My wife follows these rules Almost Perfectly except rule 1 She uses a BIG HAMMER!
