Power requirement question

I have a prebuilt computer I bought in 2021…

ASUS - ROG Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-11700F - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 1TB HDD + 512GB SSD - Black

My graphics card died and I bought a new

ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX™ 4060 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card

I realized I had not checked power requirements after I unboxed the card. The cards recommend  wattage is 550 and my computer has a 500  PSU in it. My question is can I upgrade the power supply for this computer (or is that it’s max) or try running it on the lower wattage? I’m afraid that it might not be possible to upgrade the power supply. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Please delete this post. My power supply upon inspection is a higher wattage then the specs specified. Thanks!

Regarding your power supply, I would recommend upgrading to a 650W or 700W PSU. This will ensure that your new graphics card has enough power to run properly. Running it on a 500W PSU could be risky, as it might not be able to provide enough power for the card, especially during peak usage.

Upgrading the PSU is usually a straightforward process. You can find many tutorials online that will guide you through the steps. Just make sure to choose a PSU that is compatible with your motherboard and other components.

I hope this helps!
