Hello,
I've had an ASUS TUF X670E PLUS motherboard for a few months now. I recently switched cases and needed to pry a screw from a stand-in that was stuck in the motherboard, this was next to some VRM's, I scratched up the mobo a little bit around the screw area, doesn't seem too bad, I might've also 'bumped' a VRM heatsink a little lightly. Ever since this incident, I hear electrical (possible coil whine) coming from that exact area, only in Windows. It stops if I move my mouse. Nothing in the BIOS, I've tried turning on ECO mode and it doesnt' seem to help much.
The noise is slight, not even bothersome, that is to say I'm only concerned it might damage other components. The build is 2 months old.
ASUS X670E PLUS (TUF)
AMD 7800X3D
2x 16GB GSkill TridentZ 6000MHz RAM
AMD RX480 8GB
Seasonic Focus GX-1000 (1000W)
Thanks for any help.
Edit: I've also tried pluggin in both CPU power connectors, and using a new one as well, I've also tried different RAM in case it's actually the RAM making the noise, to no avail, the noise still persists.
