HI Guys and Girls,
I have just installed a Titan in my Rampage Extreme IV mobo and I have set the bios to GEN3 for my PCIe 3.0 card.
but it only shows up as PCIe 2 ????????????
Does any one know why this is?
I have the card in the first slot I am a little bit stumped as to what is the problem.
Thanks Guys, and Girls.

"Sandy bridge LGA 2011 processors don't have support for the full pcie3.0" Only 3rd generation Ivy processors support PCIe3.0... I don't know if there are going to be 2011 socket IVY or Haswell CPUs ..But hey don't worry There is no game out there (and won't be there for 3years) which can utilize even PCIe 2.0 to the fullest..

There is no problem. Your system is running just fine and if you wish you can find the nVidia patch and see if that changes the status of the Gen2 to Gen3. Will not make one bit of different to your performance as Gen3 is more a marketing tool than anything a gamer needs to even think about. Gen2 is not even close to being saturated at the minute.

if you run the patch it will force it into your registry, and shows up on your GPU-z as gen 3
just open up a command window and drag it into it.

Are you guys talking about this-? http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3135/~/geforce-600-series-gen3-support-on-x79-pla...
but as HiViz said it's not going to make any difference Just to brag about your hardware among friends...

Thanks Guys just thought there maybe something broken or it was just me not doing things right cheers.
On another note why do they advertise it on their products and you have paid for it and you can't have it strange that one.

Ps Down loaded the patch installed it.
It still says GEN2.0 even after a reboot ah well never mind eh.

Not sure any Intel LGA2011 says that it is Gen3. And since the PCIe controller is on the CPU...

The motherboards will run Gen3 if there is a Gen3 processor mate. Two distinctly different things I guess. 🙂

But yeah I agree marketing folks really do take the p1ss as far as I am concerned.

You might have to go into your BIOS and set Gen3 by the way.
