Pci express 16x16x8 mode

I was following some forums and it seem that 16x16x8 pcie 3.0 is possible but only with the ASUS X99-Deluxe II LGA 2011-V3 and not the more expensive rampage V edition 10 board.
I think ill have to get the deluxe board since it support 16x16x8.

Well I am pretty disappointing as a first time rampage user, I had to go ahead an buy the x99 deluxe board cause i need 16x16x8 support and a 600-$700 motherboard only supports 16x16 or 16x8x8x8 while the deluxe is $200 cheaper and does support 16x16x8x i don't know what to say about that 😞

I have a thread on here about the STRIX, too.

I changed to the DELUXE II because it wouldn't even do 16x16x4 (it kept thinking my Intel NVME drive was x8 and knocking my GPUs down).

Don't be disappointed at ASUS, they did what users asked, added onboard USB3.1 and U.2 support, so many people complained about another manufacturer having options that the RVE didn't have so they added them
You can still purchase the original RVE and have 16X8X16 support with a 40 lane CPU and a 3.0x4 pcie drive, if they left the RVE alone and made it the color and RGB LED's I would have been happier, but they listened to the community
ASUS is probably shacking their heads, we give you what you ask for and you still complain
